The Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education will host its third annual Healthy Living Day celebration on September 7 at the Michael C. Carlos Dance Centre, in West Midtown Atlanta. Kids and adults can participate in a variety of free activities such as dance classes, food demonstrations and healthy living and nutrition seminars.

There will also be fun door prizes and a healthy living book fair. The festivities conclude with performances by local dance and arts organizations, including Atlanta Ballet’s Wabi Sabi.

AJC Decatur Book Festival Supplies Literary Fun

The ninth annual AJC Decatur Book Festival (DBF), sponsored by Dekalb Medical, will take place the weekend of August 29 –to 31 in Historic Downtown Decatur. DBF is the largest independent book festival in the country, providing year-round programs and funding for literary projects. Festival-goers will enjoy book signings, author readings, panel discussions, an interactive children's area, live music, parades, poetry slams, writing workshops and more.

A new outdoor cooking stage on the site of the Decatur Farmers’ Market will feature nine cooking demonstrations from renowned chefs. Kids’ activities include the Whistleblowers’ parade, Wizard of Oz parade, a 90-second Newbery Film Festival and keynote speaker Jon Scieszka who will address the audience on Friday evening at Agnes Scott College.
