Dirty South Yoga Fest Morphs Again

Jun 30, 2019 02:00AM ● By Staff
One thing that can be said of Dirty South Yoga Fest founder Jessica Murphy—she doesn’t like standing still.

This year’s festivities take place from Friday, August 9 through Sunday August 11 and will once again be held at the Loudermilk Center, 40 Courtland St NE.

After adding a second full day of classes in 2018, Murphy has added 10 classes across two time slots on Friday. These longer workshops are oriented towards the business of yoga, and yoga education; some offer CEUs.

And on Sunday, instead of the day ending with more yoga classes, Murphy is offering a two-hour closing ceremony and a wellness bazaar presented by this magazine. As the festival’s website explains: “We are inviting vendors, healers, practitioners, wellness brands, spa treatments, energetic work, conscious shopping and all of your new yoga friends! Refreshments + Botanical Cocktail included.”

Returning for its second year is a VIP option that includes exclusive SWAG, a Dirty South Yoga tank, a one-on-one spa treatment or spiritual service, and lunch delivered to you. VIP tickets start at $149 for a day pass, and regular tickets start at $99 for a day pass.

Finally, there is a kick-off party on Friday night from 7:00 to 10:30 pm. The venue is to be determined.
