Be Hot Yoga Renovates

Be Hot Yoga, on the eastside trail of the Atlanta BeltLine, celebrated its Re-Grand Opening on October 27 with free classes and refreshments.

The studio was purchased by Diana DeLatour and Suzanne Szabo late last year, and the pair invested $50,000 in renovations earlier this year. Most of that investment was in new flooring: They replaced carpet with a special type of vinyl flooring made for hot yoga. The material, says DeLatour, is eco-friendly, nonslip and much cleaner. That change, combined with a new coat of off-white paint replacing the previous blue makes the studio appear much lighter and brighter, she says.

The renovation also opened up the studio’s reception and retail area, enlarging it by about one-third and adding more cubbies and retail items.

Since the renovation was completed in May, DeLatour and Szabo have added new classes, including a yin class and a meditation class every Sunday.

Be Hot Yoga’s previous owners, Jason Ewing and Cristina Ray, continue to teach at the studio they opened 18 years ago. They and the new owners won’t be going anywhere soon; a new five-year lease is now in place.
