Sustainability Conference to Inspire Career Seekers

The Georgia Conservancy and Generation Green are sponsoring The Next South, a February 23 conference created to inspire future leaders and students seeking careers in sustainability and corporate responsibility.

The fourth annual conference will be held at the Georgia State University Student Center in downtown Atlanta. Students are invited to showcase their own projects and research through informational posters to be displayed during the career- networking portion of the event. Applications are due February 13.

Panel speakers include representatives from the Coca-Cola Company, Mercedes- Benz Stadium, Green Sports Alliance, King of Pops, TreeZero and more. TreeZero, begun in 2009, is committed to making a positive impact on the environment by making 100 percent “tree-free” paper from sugarcane. King of Pops is an Atlanta-based company that creates uniquely flavored popsicles from natural ingredients sourced from its own farm and others.

The first Next South drew 300 students and professionals.

The conference runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $35. For more information visit georgiaconservancy.org/
