Training Opportunity for Farm to School
The 21st Georgia Organics Conference will be February 16 to 17 in Augusta, Georgia. Features include continuing education for dieticians, offering 10 continuing professional education units for registered dieticians and dietetic technicians.
Certificates will be offered for attending K-12 educators and school nutrition staff. The conference has also been approved for six clock hours for the Department of Early Care and Learning, according to a recent press release from Georgia Organics.
Highlights of the conference include a field trip to Burke County schools, a curriculum workshop for educators and sessions on finding community resources and cooking in the classroom.
According to GeorgiaOrganics.org, the conference, which will also feature 70 exhibit booths, is the largest of its kind in the Southeast. A new feature will be the discounted farmers rate. Forums on the website will offer carpooling and homestay information.
Registration will be open until February 5, at an increased price after the early bird registration ends. The conference will be held at the Augusta Marriott & Convention Center.
