Environment Georgia Activism Asks for Signatures

In November, Environment Georgia delivered 33,923 petitions from all 50 states to the U.S. Department of Energy calling on Secretary Rick Perry to stop trying to block clean energy.

According to Environment Georgia.org, in April, Secretary Perry announced concerns that renewable energy was undermining the reliability of the US electric system, and that he would consider overriding state clean-energy policies. A study Perry commissioned returned findings in August that there was no impact from renewable energy and environmental regulations on the stability of the American power grid, the website reports.
A recent Environment Georgia press release promised the organization will “keep working to resist attacks on renewable energy at the federal level, to put states and college campuses on a path to 100 percent renewable energy, to win ambitious solar commitments from cities and towns, and more.”

Environment Georgia, in partnership with Environment Action, is now asking the public to sign a petition that would help protect America’s gray wolves, once on the verge of extinction.

Congress introduced H.R. 424, the Gray Wolf State Management Act of 2017, on October 4. The bill would repeal aspects of the Endangered Species Act of 1973 and protection for wolves in all of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan and Wyoming, as well as portions of Ohio, the Dakotas and more.
