Learn How To Chant Mantras
The Atlanta kirtan musician Ian Boccio will lead a full weekend of mantra-chant education December 8 to 10 at Vista Yoga.
Boccio’s course will cover Sanskrit pronunciation, mala use, root mantras for several deities and yoga philosophy. All three sessions are recommended, but participants can take only the first two sessions if needed.
Mantra-chant workshops begin with physical elements of the chant, including definitions of mantra and sacred language, and then progress into the energetic and spiritual, according to MantraChant.com. Relaxation time is built into the program to allow students to regroup. The goal is to leave the student with a functioning mantra practice.
Boccio, a musician for more than 20 years, leads mantra healing circles around the United States.
All three days of the intensive are $144. The first two sessions alone are $72. Vista Yoga is located at 2836 Lavista Road, Ste. D, Decatur.
