Doctor Proposes Alternative Therapy for Asthma Sufferers

Editor’s Note: Fall offers Atlanta’s asthma sufferers an encore of the discomfort felt in spring as August ushers in the ragweed pollen season.

Guest writer Dr. Mike Greenberg of Millennium Healthcare says that allergens such as ragweed not only affect those allergic to it, but often aggravate asthma. He shares how he believes alternative therapy can help children, those who are often outside the most.

Asthma is the leading serious, chronic illness among children. In 2009, one out of 10 children had asthma, according to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. For some children, the illness becomes a formidable problem, causing numerous visits to the hospital emergency room and multiple hospitalizations. Asthma is the number one cause of school absenteeism.

Asthma is a chronic disease of the lungs’ airways that affects approximately 334 million people worldwide, and around 25 million people in the United States. Approximately 5,000 people die each year from asthmatic attacks, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Asthma breathing stress usually happens in “episodes”, even though the underlying asthma inflammation is continuous. An asthma episode is a series of events that result in narrowed airways. The narrowed airway is responsible for the difficulty in breathing and the familiar “wheeze”.

Decades ago, it was more rare for children to have asthma. At kids’ soccer games today, if a child has a breathing problem, a half-dozen parents run onto the field with inhalers. Asthma control is often a lifetime of prescriptions and expenses.

Holistic Approach for Asthma
The scientific explanation of how natural healing of asthma works is unavailable.

But the reverse asthma phenomenon has occurred with mind/body approaches, without using medications. Asthma symptoms have been completely eliminated many times by various holistic health care providers and diverse healing methods.

The most documented healing technique for winning the war against asthma and allergies is Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Techniques, or NAET (pronounced nate). There are more than 10,000 healthcare practitioners in the United States, utilizing the NAET therapy.

Both the symptoms as well as the triggers of asthma can be neutralized. Years of clinical experience have demonstrated that once an allergy has been eliminated with NAET, the symptoms do not return. Many holistic doctors favor the NAET method.

Robert Sampson, M.D., says, “At a time when food sensitivities, asthma, and environmental allergies are increasing at an alarming rate, NAET offers a safe, effective alternative to drug treatments that yields exceptional results.”

Dr. Ann McCombs says, “NAET is a non-invasive, natural procedure to reverse food allergies. No needles and no medications, making it a very gentle therapy.”

Currently, there is no medical cure for asthma.
