Unplugging from Technology and Coming to our Senses
Unplug Atlanta advises people to put the tablet away, hide the laptop and stuff that cell phone in a sleeping bag to disengage from technology for 24 hours as part of the national effort on March 4. Unplug Atlanta will be at SweetWater Brewing Company from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. (it’s okay to use an analog watch) March 4, with a tour and tasting. A pre-party yoga/meditation session will take place at 11:30 a.m.
Participants will be given a cell phone sleeping bag at the door before enjoying engaging sensory stations that allow guests to taste, smell, see, hear, feel, relax and play, without the distraction of smartphones. The blindfolded SweetWater beer-tasting station will introduce beer in a new way. An interactive art project and fun stations will engage the senses and create conversations with others while listening to live music.
Location: 195 Ottley Dr., Atlanta. For more information, call 770-312-9722 or visit UnplugAtlanta.com.
