Natural Awakenings Atlanta

Shop Salvage, the Modern Vintage Marketplace

Salvage, a curated vintage show, features vendors selling clothing, decor, home goods, furniture, books and more from all decades will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., September 20, at Atlanta’s Yaarab Temple. Highlights include a great sampling of vendors selling handcrafted items with a vintage aesthetic, local food vendors, music from DJ Zano, swag bags for the first 100 attendees and a vintage style competition.

Salvage is hosted by the Indie Craft Experience (ICE), the brainchild of Shannon Mulkey and Christy Petterson that began in 2005 to provide new opportunities for craft and vintage sellers. Mulkey sates, “Educating shoppers on why they should buy handcrafted is a important because you are using your money to directly support someone using their talents to make a living instead of a big box store and a chain of middlemen. What you buy will be unique, instead of contributing to the sameness threatening to dominate society today.”

Other initiatives include ICE Summer Camp for Kids, Craft Escape and bringing Make-N-Takes to events such as Art on the BeltLine, Maiedae Mixer, Maker Faire Atlanta and the Decatur Book Fest. Location: 400 Ponce de Leon Ave. NE, Atlanta. For more information, visit ICE-Atlanta.com/about-salvage.
