Women’s Health & Fitness Expo

The Women’s Health & Fitness Expo, to be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., August 16, at the Crown Plaza Atlanta, seeks to provide a one-stop shop for women to gain information and find new products to help them reach their health and wellness goals.

The idea of the Expo is to encourage and inspire women of all ages and backgrounds to take an active role in their health and well-being by offer attendees an opportunity to interact with organizations and businesses that provide services for three specific health domains which include mental, social and physical aspects.

Participants will have access to free health screenings, on-site health providers, fitness workshops, nutrition seminars, health seminars, demonstrations, interactive exhibits, personal development workshops, product sampling, giveaways and more.

Heal Center Expands in New Sandy Springs Location

The Heal Center of Sandy Springs has moved to 270 Carpenter Drive, Suite 500, expanding both their practitioner base and range of classes. The new location offers a more modern and spacious facility for visitors and expanded services, with an emphasis on restorative yoga and pain management.

New practitioners include acupuncturist Dr. Akinyi Osano, a doctor of Oriental medicine, craniosacral therapist Sharon Price and Dr. Tammy Reusli, a full-time holistic chiropractor. The Heal Center has also added Thai massage, ayurvedic workshops, tai chi classes and Reiki with Michal Spiegelman, of Balanced Moments. They plan to host community events to further their objective of becoming a central location for alternative healing and therapies in Atlanta.

The Heal Center was founded by Roz Zollinger in 1992. Her son, Michael, a neuromuscular and sports massage therapist, then founded the Heal Center Wellness Collective. Their goal is to bring together a dedicated group of holistic practitioners in an environment conducive to promoting physical, emotional and spiritual health. In addition to therapeutic services, Heal Center also offers classes and certification in reflexology and aromatherapy.
