The Chattahoochee Nature Center (CNC) is hosting the Home by Dark songwriter series, in Roswell. On the first Friday of each month through October, CNC will bring in some of the best songwriters in America for an incredible evening of music in an unforgettable setting. The concert will feature James Casto, with Craig Carothers and Don Henry, at 8 p.m., August 2. On September 6, Casto will be joined by Tony Arata and Mike Willis. The Nature Club Meeting: Nature Photography, begins with a potluck at 7 p.m., August 22, followed be a presentation by Don Stewart of the Georgia Nature Photography Association. Walk on Water Adventures, LLC is providing paddle guides on August 18 to teach visitors the basics of paddleboarding and demonstrating how to stand and cruise the river safely and enjoyably. Advance registration is required by August 15, and participation in Stand up Paddle Boarding 101 is recommended. From August 31to September 1, families are invited to join the CNC for a holiday campout weekend. Sleep under the stars, enjoy night hikes, play games on the meadow, visit with nocturnal animals and roast marshmallows around a campfire.
