Southeast Green Celebrates Women Environmental Leaders

Southeast Green will present The Power of Policy: Women in the Environment Creating Change, a luncheon celebrating women that have taken leadership roles in creating environmental change, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., May 9, at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church. An all-female panel will discuss the role women play in policymaking in government and nonprofit environmental arenas. Discussions will focus on how a women’s perspective helps to shape policy, why so many women are in policy versus business and the professional successes and challenges these women have met along the way.

Featured panelists include Sally Bethea, Chattahoochee Riverkeeper; Suzanne Burnes, Sustainable Atlanta; Colleen Kiernan, Sierra Club; Denise Quarles, Mayor’s Office Department of Sustainability; and Stephanie Stuckey Benfield, GreenLaw.

An organic, locally sourced lunch menu will be provided by Parsley’s Catering.
